World’s Biggest Online Photography Competition Comes to Pakistan



For the very first time this Sep, Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM), the world’s biggest online digital photography competition is coming to Pakistan. This competition, known as Wiki Loves Monuments Pakistan (WLMP) is organized nationally by Wikimedia Community User Group Pakistan (WCUGP), the official affiliate of Wikimedia Foundation in the country.
Wikimedia Foundation is the organization behind the popular online encyclopaedia, Wikipedia, amongst the top 10 most visited web sites within the WLMP aims to produce interest in along with promote and highlight the country’s real cultural heritage.

It also seeks to encourage the idea of creative commons licences by releasing all competition photographs under them so that they can be easily utilized by anyone all over the world.

All qualified sites, both protected and unprotected, including archaeological sites, monuments, buildings, shrines, places of worship and tombs noted on Wikipedia’s page are included in the competition.
