Peshawar: The PTI chief Imran Khan has asked the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government to impose income taxes on the NATO containers passing by through the province, devise financial strategy plans and search for revenue generation sources. An official hand out quoted his argument in a conference held to brief the KPK Chief Minister Pervaiz Khattak towards economic status of the province by the additional chief assistant. The conference was attended by the provincial cabinet members, chief secretary as well as others.
Talking about the economic conditions of the province, Imran Khan mentioned that it is necessary to tax the NATO vehicles that are harming the infrastructure of the province, damaging the roads.
‘We have to enforce taxes on the untaxed social sectors. Being the government we need to look for all the ways of revenue generation so that we can overcome the deficit faced by the province. Challenges in the provinces need to be strictly met’.
PTI leader further said that throughout the entire world taxation system is evolved to carry out the public benefit services of the society. The local government in the province through proper taxation system would be able to work towards improvement as it would encourage the people as well as the village councils would have a development budget utilizing it, they can fulfill their responsibilities and duty.
