Nawa-i-Waqt editor and president Majid Nizami died
LAHORE: seasoned journalist, chairman of the Nawa-I-Waqt group and its editor-in-chief, Majeed Nizami, died in Lahore early on Saturday at the age of 86, News revealed.
Nizami’s funeral prayers were offered on Sat morning on Mason Road in Lahore. Punjab CM Shahbaz Sharif and Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammed Sarwar also attended the funeral.
Nizami had been troubled from heart related illnesses. On Friday, an statement in the The Nation, a Nawa-I-Waqt group newspaper, had read that Nizami was receiving therapy for chest area infection for the past 3 weeks and was slowly recovering.
