United States increases monitoring over Pak-Afghan border



WASHINGTON: Top United States military commanding officer in Afghanistan says the US has enhanced its monitoring over the Afghan-Pakistani border, as Pakistan pounds a militant stronghold with airstrikes. So far representatives haven’t seen militants fleeing the latest offensive, which started on Sunday.
Marine Gen. Joseph Dunford informs news agency in an interview that the Usa isn't coordinating military operations with Pakistan along the border, but authorities have enhanced the amount of intelligence-sharing with the Afghans. He states the Afghan soldiers and US forces in that area are ready for any after-effects of the attack, including extremists looking for refuge in Afghanistan.

The UNITED STATES. has long pressed Pakistan to root out Taliban militants who have discover safe place in the outlaw tribal area for North Waziristan.
