LOS ANGELES: Actor Rex Harrison Ford has undergone operation on his broken left leg that was damaged in an accident on the set of "Star Wars: Episode VII," the publicist for the 71 year old actor stated in a argument on Thursday.
Disney, the studio behind the new "Star Wars" movies, had stated last week that Ford had injured his ankle while shooting at Pinewood Studios on the borders of London.
Ford's publicist, Ina Treciokas, stated in the statement that Ford will start rehabilitation shortly.
"He is doing well and appears forward to going back to work," Treciokas said.
Filming on the reboot of George Lucas' blockbuster "Star Wars" team will continue on plan while Ford recovers.
The actor is reprising his role as Han solamente in "Star Wars: Episode VII," advised by J.J. Abrams and set for release in December 2015.
