ISLAMABAD: A total of 5,518 people have so far been provided financial loans under Prime Minister’s Youth Loan Scheme, government minister for Finance, Economic matters, Statistics and Privatisation Muhammad Ishaq Dar informed National Assembly.
In a written answer to the query of Ms Shahida Rehmani, he stated 348 successful candidates of loans hailed from Sindh, 76 from Balochistan, 4,129 from Punjab, 685 from KPK, 7 hailed from Gilgit-Baltistan, 75 belonged to Azad Jammu and Kashmir and one hundred five hailed from Islamabad.
Giving bankwise break up, he stated 64 successful candidates have provided loans by 1st Women Bank Limited and 5,350 by National Bank of Pakistan.
Out of 5,518 successful candidates 5,302 loans were guaranteed against personal guarantee, while 112 loans were protected against mortgage of residential property owned by the loan candidates.
