The owner and management of a children’s boarding school in west India have been detained after 5 minors stated they were raped, forced to watch adult films and behave them out with each other, police and charitable organisation workers stated.
The children were made to eat faeces as a physical punishment if they didn't follow.
The 52-year-old owner of the Chandraprabha Charitable Trust and his 30-year-old feminine manager were detained on Monday after a police raid on the school in Karjat city in Gujrat state.
“We received a law enforcement complaint from the Childline charity stating that one child had gone home for the vacations and admitted to his mother that violations were happening,” Karjat’s Police Inspector RR Patil told the Thomson Reuters Foundation later on Thursday.
“5 young children in total have now come out and we have booked the two suspects under various offences,” he said, including that these included unnatural sax, wrongful confinement and sexual attack.
The school covered 28 underprivileged kids, aged between 4 and 14, for 10 months of the year, stated Patil, but most were on vacation at house at the period of the raid.
Law enforcement were searching for whether other children were mistreated and if there were any other suspects.
