A New Pew Research Center survey has displayed that the world’s Muslims want Islamic system in their Countries. The survey was taken between 2008 and 2012 in 39 countries around the world. 38,000 Muslims of 80 different languages took part in in face to face interview s from Asia, Europe, Middle East and Africa. Many also desired Islamic law not only in their personal lives but also in society and state policies. The Islamic Shariah law demand changed from state to state. Afghanistan continued on top with 99% Muslims demand for Shariah while Azerbaijan was on bottom position with 8%.
84% Pakistani, 89% Palestinians, 83% Moroccan, 74% Egyptians, 72% Indonesians and 71% Nigerian are in favour of completely Islamic implementation. Surprisingly, most people who are in favour of Sharia also want equal right for minorities. Vast majority of these people think that Shariah law will not give bad effect on minorities.
Most of Muslims across the world termed Alcohol Drink, Prostitution, abortion and homosexuality as immoral activities. On other hand, a large percentage of Muslims called polygamy as acceptable. Answering Religious Extremism, majority believe that it’s an important issue.
Citizens of Pakistan and Lebanon are more worries about sectarian conflict. 34% Muslims in Pakistan and 38% in Lebanon believe that Sunni-Shia conflict as big issue.
